Cory’s professional career path started in Regina SK. (where he was born & raised) at the Tor Hill GC. in 1992. Here he served as an assistant golf professional working his way through the PGA of Canada’s Apprenticeship Program. Upon completion of his apprenticeship, he gained full status on the Canadian Tour for the 1998 season. The following season he returned to club life as general manager & club professional at the Goulet GC. in Regina. Then 2004 saw Cory journey to Vancouver Island where he held the positions of director of golf at Morningstar GC. and operations manager & club professional at Eaglecrest GC. This spring (2021) sees Cory move north to Lake Point G&CC in Fort St. John, assuming the roll of Head Golf Professional.

His career path has been heavily shaped by some of Canada’s foremost golf professionals. Exposure to world class players and Canadian golf legends, PGA organizational leaders and management & corporate entrepreneurs have given Cory a pedigree beyond reproach.

Through experience, mentorship & continued education Cory has become one of Canada’s most well rounded golf professionals. Cory has put together a successful playing record throughout his career. He still loves to play to this day and continues to compete on the regional, provincial & national stages. He instructs & coaches all ages and levels of golfer. Cory takes pride in passing on his knowledge of the game. Working in a corporate environment under the strict guidance required by a pension fund has honed Cory’s fiscal accountability skills. His management abilities have allowed him to successfully build and lead teams as large as 35 staff. The ability to create a fun & friendly golf culture at his facilities may be his greatest asset. One of the area’s which Cory enjoys the most is planning and executing events “those are the really fun days!” His involvement with tourism, marketing & hospitality associations has led Cory to expand his network well beyond the golf world. Cory also has a “side hustle outside of golf which sees him work at world class events hosted at world class facilities.

Cory is an outdoor enthusiast being passionate about alpine skiing, kayaking & mtn. biking. He travels extensively whenever the opportunity presents itself. He would rather be outside and in the country rather than indoors in a city.

Cory is incredibly grateful for all he has experienced. He uses those experience to be a better person & leader each day.
