About
Hello..
Originally from Banff, Alberta. Started playing golf at the age of 8 with my cousin and uncle in Sylvan Lake during the summer months. My uncle was a very accomplished golfer in the Calgary area and he was my initial link to the game of golf.
I was a member at the Banff Springs Golf Course for over 20 years and was incredibly fortunate to be able to play at such an iconic course.
I was also very active in Hockey and Skiing - eventually I chose skiing as my winter sport and earned my Level 1 Ski Instructor's certification and taught for a few seasons at both Sunshine Village and Mt. Norquay ski resorts .
My work life in Banff was the grocery industry, eventually our family had the chance to move out West and I continued to work in the grocery industry. With two young kids in tow - we settled in Cloverdale. With the kids getting involved in various things - it became quite clear that golf would have to take a break - so for the next 15 years, there was very limited time for golf.
Once the kids were older, the opportunity came to join a club and I was fortunate to have the chance to become a member at the Pitt Meadows Golf Club - where I am still a member today.
My son Noah, finally at the age of 18 - took an interest in golf and began working at Pitt Meadows GC where he soon began to excel at the game and in the pro shop. I am very proud to see him take such an interest in the game which has been a passion of mine since I was a young boy.
I have always wanted to be a part of the CPGA - but the timing just wasn't quite right when I was younger - now that I have retired from my main career - I have the time to work at a Golf Course and have begun working at the Fort Langley Golf Course in the pro shop, as well, I am one of the Tournament Coordinators there.
I am extremely excited for the opportunity to work in the golf industry, be apart of the CPGA, to learn and eventually be able to teach and coach this amazing sport that I love so much.
Cheers,
Enjoy the walk...
