About

Bari Gourley started playing golf at a young age with her parents, 2 sisters and 2 brothers at the Algonquin Golf Club in St. Andrews, NB. She started taking lessons with the resident PGA of Canada Professional Clayton Van Tassel at Algonquin and played competitive junior golf growing up. After high school she attended the San Diego Golf Academy to learn more about the game and the business. Her first job in the golf business was Assistant Professional at the Riverside Country Club in Rothesay NB, working for Jim Connolly, where she learned so much more about the business and customer service. From there she worked in Halifax, Vancouver and the Fredericton area and moved into teaching the game of golf full-time for many years spending 10 years at Kingswood.

For seven years she was the Technical Director of Golf NB, the governing amateur body of golf in New Brunswick, where she was the NB Junior Girls Provincial Coach at the Canadian Championships and Canada Games, ran Future Links Golf in Schools & mobile clinics, made programs and helped run provincial tournaments.

She started to miss teaching the game of golf and made her return to teaching full-time in 2020 at Kingswood. She specializes in teaching junior golf and women's golf but has found herself teaching more men each year. She teaches individual lessons, group lessons, series of lessons, clinics, and half-day classes to all ages and genders. She is also teaching in the winter at the Andrew Connors Golf Studio at Kingswood. After 34 years in the business she is still loves to teach the wonderful game of golf.
